Avigail’s career is as diverse as it is rich. She is a multi talented performer known primarily for her wonderful music theatre and cabaret performances. She has also worked in TV, is in demand as a teacher and vocal coach, musical director and director and has an illustrious career as a voice over artist and session singer.

Avigail has performed in many musicals and concerts such as CATS, FOLLIES, GODSPELL, DYNAMITE, THE OFFICIAL TRIBUTE TO THE BLUES BROTHERS, TAKE FLIGHT, THE STARS COME OUT, ALL STAR TRIBUTE TO STEPHEN SONDHEIM and HATS OFF. On TV, her credits include HEARTBREAK HIGH and ALWAYS GREENER. She was lead singer and Musical Director in the production of ELEGIES FOR ANGELS PUNKS AND RAGING QUEENS for the World Gay Games and was Musical Director and Director for the prestigious Australia Day Lunch between 2000 and 2002. Most recently Avigail produced, musically directed, co-directed and performed in the very successful and hilarious spoof: MUSICAL OF MUSICALS THE MUSICAL!

Avigail has toured with some of the best international artists including Sammy Davis Jr, Petula Clark and Cilla Black and most recently did concerts with American composers John Bucchino and Georgia Stitt on their Australian tour. Avigail has also had a series of very successful one woman shows including HEY WORLD HERE I AM (the STREISAND STORY), FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD (A MUSICAL JOURNEY WITH HAROLD ARLEN) and most recently FINGERPRINTS which have won her both critical and public acclaim around the nation.

Avigail is also a passionate advocate for the training of Music Theatre performers. She was Head of Music at NIDA from 1993 to 1997 leaving that position to set up and develop in 1999 NIDA’s very successful one year Music Theatre course ‘Singer Dancer Actor’ which became a Diploma in Music Theatre (2009) and which she headed until the end of 2010. Such is the quality and diversity of Avigail’s teaching that she is in constant demand from institutions and organisations both nationally and internationally.

Avigail was invited as a guest lecturer for a semester at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh USA. Her Master classes are in demand and she has taken workshops for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), Melbourne Cabaret Festival, Noosa Long Weekend Festival, NIDA Summer School, Queensland Performing Arts Trust (QPAT), schools and institutions across the country and the Talent Development Unit for the NSW Department of Education for whom she consults.

Avigail has many recording credits to her name and has lent her vocal expertise to themes for TV shows such as FARSCAPE and THE FLYING DOCTORS, as well as innumerable ads and TV episodes for shows such as RUSH. She has been a judge of the Sydney Cabaret Convention and more recently the Cabaret Showcase, a member of the judging panel for the ‘Young Australian of the Year’ and hosted the launch of the 2003 Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

In 2007, Avigail was the Artistic Director of SHORT SWEET & SONG, an inaugural mini music theatre festival which was highly successful and received unanimous praise. Most recently Avigail directed a highly successful staged concert version of MILK & HONEY (Jerry Herman's first show) in Melbourne.

Avigail is also proud to be an 11th hour ambassador for Ovarian Cancer.
