Avigail has always had a strong directorial eye and a passion for story telling. Her expertise in storytelling through song is admired both in her performances and as an educator. Her ability to extract nuanced performances from both students and professionals alike is what has led her to becoming a sought after director and music director. She was both co-director and music director for the hilarious spoof “Musical of Musicals the Musical!” in 2009 and 2010 and directed and musically directed NIDA’s production of “Songs for a New World” in 2009. In 2007 she artistically directed the inaugural mini music theatre festival “Short Sweet and Song” to much acclaim and was music director and director for the prestigious Australia Day Lunch between 2000 and 2002. Avigail was also music director for the production of "Elegies for Angels Punks and Raging Queens” for the World Gay Games and most recently directed a staged reading of Jerry Herman’s first musical “Milk and Honey”. Avigail was also the director and music director for the NIDA Diploma of Music Theatre showcase and musically directed many NIDA productions whilst Head of Music there (1993-1997). In 2011 Avigail will be music director for the Ballarat Music Theatre showcase.
