BIOGRAPHY

     

Avigail's career is as diverse as it is rich. A MO award nominee, she is a multi talented performer known primarily for her wonderful music theatre and cabaret performances. She has also worked in TV, is in demand as a teacher/vocal coach and has an illustrious career as a voice over artist & session singer.

Avigail has sung, acted and danced in shows such as CATS (original cast), David Atkins' DYNAMITE, GODSPELL, THE OFFICIAL TRIBUTE TO THE BLUES BROTHERS, ELEGIES FOR ANGELS PUNKS AND RAGING QUEENS (for which she was also Musical Director) and DON'T FIGHT IT, FEEL IT ­ HISTORY OF SOUL MUSIC (with Doug Parkinson ). She has sung in many concert versions of shows such as TAKE FLIGHT (new Maltby and Shire work at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival), FOLLIES, HATS OFF and THE STARS COME OUT directed by Richard Wherret. Avigail has also toured with some of the best international artists including Sammy Davis Jr, Petula Clark and Cilla Black.

In recent years, Avigail has had a string of very successful one woman cabaret shows: CHANGE, IF, MINUTE BY MINUTE and PORTRAITS OF LIFE. Her hugely successful show HEY WORLD HERE I AM (THE STREISAND STORY) is still playing around the country, along with her latest incarnations FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD (A MUSICAL JOURNEY WITH HAROLD ARLEN), her collaborative show THE BEST OF ALL POSSIBLE WORLDS: THE MUSIC OF LEONARD BERNSTEIN, and most recently, FINGERPRINTS, which garnered her much critical and public acclaim.

Her TV credits include HEARTBREAK HIGH and ALWAYS GREENER in which she played the role of Sunny Meadows.

Avigail has many recording credits to her name and has been a judge of the Sydney Cabaret Convention. She has also been on the judging panel for the 'Young Australian of the Year' and hosted the launch of the 2003 Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
